I came to the island in 2004 as a 20 year-old motivated chef. I found work on a 101 ft sailing yacht where I was the chef for the season.
This was my baptism of fire which introduced me to the industry. After high season I started working at a restaurant in Sint Maarten where I was the head chef for a little over a year.
In 2006 I opened my first restaurant in Simpson Bay, starting my new career as a restaurateur. This was once again a big challenge for me and it took me three years to find success, while still part-time chef-ing on Mega yachts.
Finally in 2009 I found a waterfront location and I built the Stone as it is today. I am currently the executive chef and owner at my dream restaurant, The Stone.
I believe that everything starts with a dream, and the secret to success is never to give up.
